It's Never Too Late CD
A Long-Held Dream Finally Realized in the Studio
Music has been a part of Ron’s life since an early age. Initially he learned the piano through lessons with his mother, Virginia, and later, the accordion through lessons at Wallach’s Music City.
He began playing guitar in the early 1970s and purchased his first guitar, a Guild Madeira, in 1974 forming a 50 year music partnership between instrument and musician that continues to this day.
However, it took retirement for Ron to take his music to a new level and he recorded many classic favorites in the studios of his brother, Paul and friend, Pet Benitez.
This album represents a complete portfolio of Ron’s recordings. It features Ron on lead vocals and guitar, Paul on keyboards, drums and bass, and Pet on backup vocals and bass guitar.
Paul mastered all songs in his Studio in Trabuco Canyon, California. Many thanks to both of them for their inspirational support, help and guidance.
Without it these recordings would not have been possible.
A Few Song Credits and Background
“I Know a Heartache” (by Jennifer Warnes) and “Rhythm of the Rain” (by The Cascades) are two hits from the 1960’s-1970’s that Ron combined into one classic song.
“Landslide” is Ron and Paul’s mystical interpretation of the classic Fleetwood Mac song.
“Can’t Help Falling in Love” (by Elvis Presley) is a live wedding performance by Ron with his daughter, Melanie Bourassa.
“Love Potion No. 9” (by The Searchers) features a new surprise ending written by friend Tony Thomas.
